NORMAS PARA EXPOR NO CONCURSO DA Exposição de ORQUÍDEAS da
3.ª EXPOSIÇÃO / vENDA INTERNACIONAL DE ORQUÍDEAS DE COIMBRA
A Associação Portuguesa de Orquidofilia (A.P.O.) tem o prazer de o(a) convidar a participar no Concurso da Exposição de Orquídeas da 3.ª Exposição / Venda Internacional de Orquídeas de Coimbra que se realizará no Seminário Maior de Coimbra nos dias 14, 15 e 16 de Junho de 2024. Apenas podem participar e submeter as suas orquídeas a concurso os orquidófilos que sejam associados da A.P.O. com as quotas em dia, cedendo as plantas, obrigatoriamente, durante todo o tempo da realização da exposição, de acordo com as regras a seguir descritas:
1. Categorias a Concurso
Para a presente exposição a A.P.O. definiu 3 (três) categorias para concurso a seguir descritas:
CATEGORIA A: Melhor Planta
CATEGORIA B: Melhor Espécie
CATEGORIA C: Melhor Híbrido
2. Entrega de Plantas
As plantas para exposição / concurso devem ser entregues à organização da A.P.O. no Seminário Maior de Coimbra, na Rua Vandelli, n.º 02, 3004-547 Coimbra, no dia 12 de Junho (entre as 10h00 e as 19h00) e no dia 13 de Junho (das 10h00 às 13h00), sem etiqueta ou referência ao cultivador, mas devidamente identificadas.
3. Exposição
A A.P.O. reserva-se o direito de não incluir para apresentação pública e/ou concurso plantas apresentadas com deficiente estado sanitário, pelo que as mesmas deverão apresentar-se livres de pragas e doenças.
4. Concurso de Orquídeas
A A.P.O. promoverá a constituição formal de um júri experiente que terá como missão avaliar as plantas expostas a concurso, visando a atribuição dos 1.º, 2.º e 3.º lugares em cada categoria.
4.1. Julgamento
O júri realizará a avaliação das plantas expostas propostas a concurso entre as 17h00 e as 19h00 do dia 13 de Junho. Ao júri reserva-se o direito de, não existindo plantas em determinada categoria, quer em número, quer em qualidade, que mereçam ser distinguidas com qualquer dos prémios, abster-se dessa distinção, ficando o lugar com a menção de “Não atribuído”. Pelas mesmas razões, poderá ainda o júri, decidir pela aglutinação de categorias, efetuando a avaliação conjuntas das plantas.
4.2. Prémio
As orquídeas premiadas serão identificadas com a respetiva faixa que ficará aposta até ao final da exposição e que deve ser levantada com a orquídea premiada, finda a exposição. Proceder-se-á ainda ao registo dos primeiros prémios na A.P.O. e divulgação no sítio da Internet e na revista da A.P.O..
4.3. Troféus
A A.P.O. procederá à entrega de troféus e respetivos certificados A.P.O., destinados a distinguir os melhores classificados em cada categoria, numa breve cerimónia antes do Jantar de Convívio e que terá lugar às 19h15 do dia 14 de Junho, na Sala das Palestras do Seminário Maior de Coimbra.
4.4. Aferição da Posse e Cultivo
As plantas a concurso terão obrigatoriamente de estar na posse do cultivador proponente há pelo menos 6 meses.
5. Levantamento de Plantas
Finda a exposição pelas 19h00 do dia 16 de Junho, os participantes deverão proceder ao levantamento das respetivas plantas, devendo para o efeito dirigir-se à mesa da A.P.O.. Não são admitidos levantamentos diretos da exposição quando não acompanhados de um membro da organização.
6. Disposições Finais
Apenas as plantas registadas poderão ser sujeitas a concurso e só poderão ser registadas numa só categoria.

RULES FOR EXHIBITING AT THE ORCHID EXHIBITION CONTEST
OF THE 3RD COIMBRA INTERNATIONAL ORCHID EXHIBITION / SALE
The Portuguese Orchid Association (A.P.O.) is pleased to invite you to participate in the Orchid Competition at the 3rd Coimbra International Orchid Exhibition/Sale, which will take place at the Seminário Maior de Coimbra on June 14, 15, and 16, 2024. Only orchid enthusiasts who are A.P.O. members with up-to-date membership fees can participate and submit their orchids for the competition. The plants must be made available for the entire duration of the exhibition, in accordance with the following rules:
1. Competition Categories
For this exhibition, A.P.O. has defined 8 (eight) competition categories as follows:
CATEGORY A: Best Plant
CATEGORY B: Best Species
CATEGORY C: Best Hybrid
2. Plant Delivery
Plants for the exhibition/contest must be delivered to the A.P.O. organization at the Seminário Maior de Coimbra, Rua Vandelli, No. 02, 3004-547 Coimbra on June 12th (between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM) and on June 13th (from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM), without labels or reference to the grower, but properly identified.
3. Exhibition
A.P.O. reserves the right not to include plants presented for public display and/or competition with a deficient sanitary state, so they must be free of pests and diseases.
4. Orchid Competition
A.P.O. will promote the formal constitution of an experienced jury whose mission will be to evaluate the plants exhibited in the competition, aiming to award the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each category.
4.1. Judgment
The jury will evaluate the proposed plants exhibited for competition between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm on June 13th. The jury reserves the right to abstain from awarding any prizes in a particular category, either in number or quality, if there are no plants deserving of such distinction, leaving the place with the mention of "Not awarded". For the same reasons, the jury may also decide to merge categories, jointly evaluating the plants.
4.2. Prize
Award-winning orchids will be identified with the respective ribbon, which will remain attached until the end of the exhibition and should be removed with the awarded orchid after the exhibition. The first prizes will also be registered in A.P.O. and announced on the website and in A.P.O.'s magazine.
4.3. Trophies
The A.P.O. will award trophies and respective A.P.O. certificates to the top classified entries in each category during a brief ceremony before the Dinner Gathering, which will take place at 7:15 PM on June 14th in the Seminar Room of the Seminário Maior de Coimbra.
4.4. Possession and Cultivation Verification
The plants submitted for competition must be in the possession of the proposing cultivator for at least 6 months.
5. Plant Pick-Up
At the end of the exhibition on June 16th at 7:00 pm, participants must pick up their plants by going to the A.P.O. table. Direct withdrawals from the exhibition without a member of the organization present will not be allowed.
6. Final Provisions
Only registered plants may be subject to competition and can only be registered in one category.
